data assist - front end link to back end

Hello

I have gone through data assist and created all the pages for admin and all the page for public and I guess I understand the process. Please direct me to the link where I can find answer to this, Now here is my question.

1. I have copied users table and add to the Items for the database. Is that the right way to do it?

2. How do I link the public with the admin? are these two suppose to be in the same folder? what happen to the same file (i.e items_detail.php for the public and items_detail.php for admin)?

3. When uploading to live server, public's files and admin's files are all going to the same place?

I am new to database and php so please show me where I can find a level 1 explanation from beginning to end.

Thanks.
