Using the cart to accept donations

Donation only (no products)

I want to use eCart5 to create a simple, user friendly donation form.

The only fields I would need (apart from the Credit Card info) would be the donation amount, email, comment, and acknowledgment option.
Payment processing will be through First Data.

I would like the process to be as simple as possible for the user:
Just have them fill in one form (like the checkout form but also able to add their donation amount and the other fields mentioned above) then just process the form without the confirmation page.

Is this possible? I have looked in the forum for answers and checked the online documentation, but I can't figure out how to add the donation amount field to the checkout form without having a previous page that adds it as a session value.

Also can't figure out how to bypass the confirm page.

Thanks in advance.
