Can the HTML Editor field be made into a read-only field?

I like the way text is displayed in the HTML editor field - nicely formatted. I've figured out how to not have the toolbars show, but I'd like to make it a read-only field.

or... is there a different webassist product or way to display the rich text look in a textara field?
