Dropdowns and E-Cart, strategy

Hi Everyone,

I've never used dropdown menus before - the type typically used to select options for different items - IE "Select a Size" and then the dropdown box has L, M, S etc.

I think I'm going to have to use them to simplify some of my product tables. They are just too long and it doesn't make sense to have repetitive data listed when only a "size" or "grit" in my case changes.

My questions are;

1) I found some javascript that helps make these. Is that the way to go? Anything to be concerned about?
2) Integrating with E-Cart - are there any examples/literature about how to do this?

Currently I have dynamic tables and I link the add to cart button to the recordset for each table. For the drop downs, once the option was selected, I would want to still allow the user to enter the quantity. I'm not sure how I would like all this up with the addtocart buttons, recordsets etc.

Best,
E
