I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave previously.
Catch 22. You can't create a recordset in Dreamwever without having a testing server installed and defined in your site definition. Without that, the options required to create and apply queries via recordset and applying bindings as and where they are required (and you would need to know where to hand code these in) would be greyed-out and inaccessible to you.
It's not just having the recordsets - there will be more than one - ( which is virtually a set of records based on querying your database) it is then knowing all the various permutations of how you query the records and applying that information correctly throughout the site.
Anyway, eCart will not work without a testing server, which is the short and brutal answer. The requirements were listed in the product page.
This is why WebAssist created a pre-built solution (PowerStore) so that you could avoid having to know about the coding.
If someone from WebAssist were to help you through coding this by hand, the support cost would run into thousands of dollars.
I still don't understand what you have against just installing a testing server on your machine.
