Select a specified quantity from many products

Not sure if the Topic title accurately reflects what I need to accomplish, but I will do my best to explain it here and hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction.

I am selling boxed truffles in the amount of 16 per box at a set price. I want the user to be able to choose any combination of the 16 pieces from a selection of 20+ truffles. (Example: Qty 2 of Truffle A, Qty 6 of Truffle B, Qty 1 of Truffle J etc... until 16 truffles have been selected).

A "must" have would be the need for some kind of validation to ensure that they choose the right number (16) of truffles. A "would like" to have would be the ability to show in the cart/checkout the truffle selection breakdown by item name/quantity. I currently have all of the products in a database and have created a recordset (with repeating region) on the page. I would like to know if something like this is possible using the current functionality of data assist and eCart

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
