Retrofit SS with a template for adding pages?

First off. Is it true that Site Sculpture has the ability to add new pages based on a template if that page was selected to be used as a CMS template when the site was created? If so, is this something new to SS as I don't recall reading about this when I first built my site and the research into Super Suite and SS but maybe I missed it somehow. Just curious.

I am currently able to add pages manually by adding the appropriate rows to my DB, add the new .php page after editing the code and manually adding the new page to the menu. It's tedious but I am proficient at it now.

What I'd like to know, what steps do we take to make a page a "template" and have the CMS recognize it as such after the fact?
