Downloading PDFs using DFP with results from DataAssist Search

Hi,

I've created a search page to allow users to enter a product code and search for parts in a database. A results page is then generated listing each of the pages. The product code the user enters in the search form corresponds with the name of a PDF file which I have located in directory outside of the website root folder.

I'm trying to use Digital File Pro to allow the downloading of a the PDF file for the part code. I got it working on a development machine when I wasn't using DataAssist Search functionality.

However, on my DataAssist results page there is code that sets a session variable relating to the search page when the POST method is invoked, so whenever I click the download button on the results form (with the trigger for DFP set to 'current page submit') the search code is executed, rather than the download code and every single record is returned because I've not entered any search term.

I've looked at this post by Jason showpost.php?p=19527&postcount=11 and that's what helped me to get it working without using DataAssist, but in the actual website I need DataAssist search functionality in order to find the part codes. (hope all that made sense).

I've attached a copy of all of the pages involved in this. How can I get the DFP download functionality to work rather than the DA search functionality?
