DFP and Data Assist

Hello,
A couple problems I have ran into with this combination (most recent versions) are as follows:

1 ) The recordset can not be generated if you specify localhost with a port designation. For instance localhost:3307
To get around this you have to use a named server or the IP address then the : port #... DW can handle localhost:port number without error though...

2 ) Saving and updating an uploaded file.
Without using the wizard set of insert, update DA and DFP work nice together allowing you to create your own pages then add the update and insert functionality. But the options for saving the file name seems to lack the ability of the full file name. This leaves us inserting the [name] but not the [type] (gif , jpeg, pdf, etc). It would be nice if DFP had an option to allow you to have the name and type (extension) concatenated so uploading gifs and jpgs could be used interchangeably in other dynamic pages.

3) Updating a record that already has an image uploaded. I'm not sure how the extension expects to handle the case when you have a record you are updating but do not want to upload a new image. Seems some logic like if imageName isset or !empty do not pass the values for the file field. But it you did chose a new image, then use the file fields [name].[type] as the text to insert in the record.
It was easy enough to create a linked page that passes the recordID and allows a new image upload and remove the file field from the update page, but this is not the most efficient method and in the Adobe Developer Toolkit there seems to be this logic so one page could efficiently handle a new image update or leave the prior undisturbed if not needed to be changed.

Maybe being able to use localhost : port # , actual filename (based on concatenated array values of [name].[type] , and an aware update behavior that allows prior unchanged file field values or new uploads to all work well together would be a consideration in some update version...?
