3 selects - can 3rd be based on 1 AND 2?

3 selects - can 3rd be based on 1 AND 2?

I have 3 menus. I have gotten select1 to update select2. However I need select3 to update based on select1 AND select2 options. I have searched around and I just want to know if this is possible - or if its a dead end (ie dont waste my time going down this road).

heres an example of what i need to do.
we have paint, indoor OR outdoor (select1)
we then have shine: flat, semi gloss, gloss (select2)
we then have color: blue, red, green (select3)

the color needs to be populated based on select1 and select2
ie only colors that are indoor AND flat.

does this make sense?
anyways to get DD to do this?
