Morrella,
The quote you reference is exactly what the product does - replaces ADDT Includes -- not all of ADDT.
Victor, a challenge perhaps, but it's also fair to recognize that WA extensions can very easily do large majority of what ADDT did - sometimes with different nuance but they have always been different products with different philosophies.
ADDT built from top down - meaning it was all encompassing functionality. WA, in contrast, was a model where it was built from bottom up... where the smallest unit of functionality was accommodated enabling you to customize easier all the way through a project. This approach also could be seen as some as, perhaps, more time consuming. But in reality, I found great uses for this method in several apps I built.
Now, we are seeing WA take things a step further and combine functionality of several extensions - such as what happened with Universial Email and Digital File Pro. There has also been some information leaked out that the new Data Assist will have many things combined in one giving it a similar feel to the ADDT development. But the goal will still be able to make each individual part editable and customizable as is the case in their current line-up.
Not only that, I think we should also point out that WA has provided some functionality that ADDT never had already (such as with dynamic plugins and the fact that you can have unlimited plugins per page and the ability to create Framework themes). Ultimately, I think we will all see some great things come from WebAssist in the very near future.
Cheers,
Brian
