Filter results by dynamic drop down

Filter results by dynamic drop down

How do I filter the results of a DataAssist results page via a drop down that is triggered after making a selection instead of the DataAssist Search form that you can lump at the top of the results page?

I haven't done this stuff for about 6 years when I built a custom CMS using interAKT's tools. I remember back then it was easy to populate the drop down with a related tables field/values that could be used to filter your current results page.

In this case the results page will only have 3 fields: img url, name and type.

I need to be able to filter the results by type via a dynamic drop down menu.

The type field is a related field to another table.

Thanks in advance!
