Can't update some product options using "update all options"

I am having trouble updating all options on three of the fields on the "Update Product Information" page, as follows:

Will update using "update all options":

- Available online
- Name
- Inventory
- Price
- Weight
- Cart Description
- Catalog Image
- Detail Image

Won't update using "update all options":

- SKU
- Short Description
- Long Description

When I try to use "update all options" on the last three, the DB is not updated and the page simply reloads.

The product I'm trying to update has two Advanced Options and two Simple Options.
