ecart questions and problems

I have several questions I haven't been able to find answers for.

1. How do I get to the Dreamweaver receipes for the free button download? I coudn't find them so I downloaded ecart but am having fits trying to get it to work

2. If I am ONLY going to use static buttons do I have to have an application server?

3 I downloaded MAMP and configured it and it appears to be working according to the quick start. But when I build my page and then try to display in live view all I get is a blank page in design view. What am I doing wrong?

4. I would like the word quantity to appear before the quantity field is ther a way to do that?

5. Will the cart take fractions in quantity? I sell fabric and it is not sold in whole yards. Paypal wrote me a script for my original website and I might have to go back to using that.
