CSS Menu Messing up Design Page in CS4

The menu was created using my DW8 machine. It has worked very well for 2 years. I've just moved local site to a new laptop which has Dreamweaver CS4. All is good except the CSSMenu.
The CSSMenu does not render in Design view. It blows apart the rest of the page and hides the rest of the page content.
It is placed on the page as an SSI. The inlcude file itself works fine. CSS Menu Write works fine. It's just when it is included on another page in CS4. It looks fin in Design view on DW8.
Anyone have a good answer?
