You could redirect to the results page and have it show the item or related items based on the id. You will first need to have the DataAssist Search server behavior setup on your results page to filter out results based on the id that you are passing in. Once you have it setup like this you will need to link to the results page with the proper id that can be looked up that will also trigger the search server behavior.
Do you have your results page setup to lookup an item or items based on this id already? If not this is the first step. Once you have it setup like this then you can craft the link on the insert page.
