moving from ststic to a PHP dynamic Site mac user

Thanks for the reply. I am a mac user the example for step by step directions is for windows/pc.
I have installed MAMP, and I am working in OX 10.6.3 DW 4.

My html defined site already defined, It sounds like I need to define a NEW site in DW as a PHP. and copy my html files into it the PHP site. Once I do that I should and change the ext from HTML to PHP, do I do this to all pages even the static pages that do not have dynamic data? Once I do all that should I then install and apply the php web assist exts that I need?
