Variables returned by Paypal

Hi,

I need to do a couple a special things for a client. One of them is that they sell daily pass, so they need to get the date the person's gonna go. I know how to add a field (which I'll turn into a date picker with jQuery after), but I need to put the informations on the confirmation page after that.

So, I need to put the name, maybe address and the date, because they want the customer to print that after and bring it with them...

So:
1- is there a temporary page that Paypal redirects to in order to say whether is succeeded or not (and then redirects to checkout_success.php or checkout_failure.php) or is Paypal handling it?
2- What are the variables returned (post?) that I could use to put the info on the confirmation page?

Thank you.
