Problems with direct PayPal payment

Trouble with PayPal direct payment

I upgraded to PayPal Pro and am having serious problems. I'm so confused.

The shopping cart works great. When I click the checkout button on the shoppingcart.php it takes me to the checkout.php page where the customer can either click the PalPal button or enter credit card info.

The PayPal logo does take me to PayPal to sign in -- this seems to work.

BUT, if I enter credit card info it takes me to PayPal, with no option to enter credit card info (and I wouldn't want to have to re-enter it again anyway).

Question: Where should the user go after clicking the checkout button on the checkout.php page??? I thought to confirm.php, but it's going to PayPal.

Also, What's missing on my checkout and confirm pages?

Help.
