Hey Wendy,

Glad to hear you got PowerCMS working. That's usually the hardest part. Here's some information that should hopefully clarify things for you.

Could someone point me to practical real-time uses for this application

Check out our Feature Tour and the Demo website.
Feature Tour: watch?v=Yr5wxA_yIY4&feature=player_embedded
Demo: powercms-demo.com

The Feature Tour should give you some good insight on how this can be a helpful tool for someone looking for an easy way to manage their site's content.
The Demo site is a practical example of PowerCMS being applied to a real estate website.

I'm not sure how I understand this to be useful for dreamweaver?

PowerCMS isn't really intended to be used as part of the Dreamweaver workflow. You can use Dreamweaver to apply the Developer Notes code to your pages, but that can also be done using different applications. Unlike our Dreamweaver extensions, our Solutions are built to function without the need for someone to own Dreamweaver.
