Alternate styles in rows

I would like to know if there is a way for alternating the colors in a row table? The only post that I found is the one below but it was not helpful. I follow the suggestion in creating a dataassist results page and then copy and paste the code but I did not find the code under the repeating PUBLIC table. Do I have to create an ADMIN result page for the code to get written and if so, is there a way to change the alternating colors?

I noticed that datassist has a repeating table button that has an option for alternating the row colors. I have tried using it but it does not display my result. Is there a tutorial for datassit repeating table?
