Preparing to Move Powerstore and Powergallery

I've been working on my PS3 site, which I installed in a folder titled "new_site". Since I have an eCart site currently live, many of files in the PS have the same name. I'm going to want to make the site live soon and am getting nervous about moving it. I will simply have to move all the contents up one level to the root. Should I move the files in Dreamweaver locally first, hoping it will redirect any necessary paths? Then upload?

I have PowerGallery installed in the same new_site directory, but am avoiding putting the links into the PowerStore until I go live, because I know those paths will not change. I tried moving the PowerGallery "gallery" folder to the root already. It functioned fine in creating a gallery, but it did not preview or give the right paths - it still referred to the new_site. So this has got me worried. I hoping/guessing that if I move everything, the PowerGallery issue will resolve. Or not. Just trying to be prepared. I'm about a month away I'd say.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and warnings of what I can expect.
