using server validation, there is a binding group created called Validated Entries. This binding group holds the values of the form fields that where posted.

you can set the form elements initial value to use the validated entry binding, it will create code similar to:

php:
value="<?php echo(ValidatedField("confirm","form_element_name")) ?>"

you will need to modify this code to determine whether to use the record set value, or the validated entries value. To do this, first set the Failed redirect of the server validation to pass a query string variable like:
pagename.php?valid=false

you can then use code similar to the following:

php:
value="<?php echo((isset($_GET['valid']))?(ValidatedField("confirm","form_element_name")):$row_recordsetName['columnName']); ?>

to determine which one to use as the form elements value
