Me

Validation and Database Bindings

I have an update page where the forms fields are binded to data from MySQL.

If the user updates the record and makes an error, upon reload 'Validation' shows this as expected BUT also defaults any other field that was changed back to the MySQL column value.

Essentially then, not only must the user correct the form error pointed out by 'Validation', they must also retype the changes to any of the other fields as required.

To me, it seems fundamental that, if multiple form fields are changed, those changes are passed to the database (or atleast kept in the form field) subject to passing validation. If one field does not validate, then that field shows the error so the user can amend it

Is there a way around this? Am I missing something here. Is there another method?

Thanks in adviance for your replies
