I do this a lot!

Do an sql dump of your local db

Create a new database on the server
(assume you have some sort of control panel or remote server set up where your account is)
note server address, name, pw etc for this new db

enter online database details in Sequel Pro's prefs
make a new connection
that should open your database (all be it an empty one)
file - import your sql dump

done!

Assuming your database name and password are correct - ensure you online account will allow connect to its database(s)

You may need to set the online DB recipients list to accept your local address. It will be pretty obvious if you try to connect with SequelPro and the recipents list is required as you will get a message like

'MySQL said: Access denied for user 'YOURONLINEACCOUNTNAME'@'IP ADDRESS' (using password: YES)

the IP ADDRESS is the one you put in the online database recipients list
