Even for hard-coded developers as my self when you got to do with bussiness you need to cut the costs and do your job fast.
People want good stuff and fast. And apart that if you got a real bussiness runing Time = Cost which means by using products like WebAssist you cut the cost.
Now i have to say one thing. In my posts i might be criticising some times the products of WebAssist but i will make for the sake of a valid arguement a comparison of WebAssist Web Development Suite and ADT.
Maybe ADT has some very good features that are missing from WebAssist but...
ADT was using too many includes and if you needed to handcode sth you were running on major problems. Most stuff were using includes, what i see here is that most stuff are plain DW code snipets and some helper files with functions that are VERY WELL written in general if you take out the bugs. As code, are very clear to understand for a developer.
ADT had a major Transaction engine which i saw in forums that WebAssist has too. I dont want to comment anything about the Transaction Engines cause i never tried WebAssists if it exists so i can't say anything.
The only better thing that ADT had was faster responce on forums and fixes. Probably cause it had a big community. Hopefully WebAssist's community will grow and should use it for Beta Testing of new features and releases to avoid such Bugs as DFP2s initial release major bug.
Interakt was using the power of the programers community to fix up their products to top. This is what WebAssist should do too.
I was 3 years a Beta Tester of Interakt and I have participated in many releases and new products features. They used the power of the community to make their MXKollektion be so good and popular.
I have faith that WebAssist will turn out to the community and that their product/suites will become even better in a very good timeframe.
Interakt had some "Premium" beta testers that they were using them to support on forums too just giving them some premioum membershiips like new features etc and releases for production by just signing an SLA agreement.
Towards WebAssist, i think they are trying the best, don't know how many people are in the Team but doing a good work and such Suites are not easy to maintain.
