Hi, I have read a few posts here indicating that PS3 often isn't compatible with shared hosting, however, that only seems to be during the installation process. So, is it not possible to install PS3 on your local PC (the one you develop on), and then simply upload it to your host via dreamweaver and MySQL administrator as one did for PS2?

Also, I would like to keep all of the product info I currently have in my PS2, but I am not sure if the two databases are compatible. Am I able to retain the PS2 product info and load it into the PS3 database, and if so, how can I do it?

Thanks

You only need to add CREATE VIEW privileges to the user account for your database. The installation checks to make sure this is available.

If you can't do this through your control panel, you can try the command line approach.

It just depends on what your host allows. You don't often have much control of things when using shared resources.

If you have a PowerStore 2 installation already running, you can replace the PowerStore 2 files with PowerStore 3. Then follow the tutorial here for instructions on upgrading your PowerStore 2 database to work with the PowerStore 3 files.
