DB Setup Issues

I am new to Pro Maps as well as WebAssist. Not being a web guy or DB expert the support materials have been great and everything works as designed. For the most part even I get it. That being said I to am struggling on the DB part. I have been able to put manual addresses into my Pro Map but quickly I wanted to get them from a recordset. A what ??? Should I do this with DW CS4 on a testing server ??? Should I do it via my remote Site Server live DB directly??? So many questions.

I eventually set up a testing server with DW and imported my remote DB into a local DB named the same, etc. When I start Pro Maps and go through the steps to include the use of the Show Multiple button and pick my fields supporting the Address option from the recordset, everything seems to work fine until I look at the _promaps_geocache.xml file. I don't seem to be updating my _promaps_geocache.xml file. I would assume that appropriate entries from the recordset would populate the _promaps_geocache.xml. Is that correct? If I do this locally, should I just be able to push the _promaps_geocache.xml to my remote site and all will be well?

Additionally, if for some reason I had to or wanted to do another Insert > Google > ProMaps I would generate another wagmp_map_#.php file. It looks like I do? Is having incrementing versions of these files ok?

Any light on this or even philosophy of testing servers vs. remote servers for Pro Maps web development work would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
