Pam,
The content pages created by SiteAssist Professional are based on a Dreamweaver template. This allows you to update the header or side column in the template, to quickly update all the pages that use that template. You can access the templates by choosing Window > Assets, and selecting the Templates icon.
When you open a page that is based on a template, you will only be able to edit the areas that are marked as editable. The other areas are consistent throughout all the other pages using that template. So, to change those regions, you would need to edit the template.
To modify content in those areas per page, you could...
a) detach a specific page from the template to allow you to modify those areas. However, this means that if you updated the template, those changes would not get applied to that page anymore. To do this, go to Modify > Templates > Detach from Template.
b) Modify the template itself, and create additional editable regions. Any region marked as editable can be uniquely modified per page.
Creating new editable regions..
1. Open the Template from the Assets panel.
2. Place your cursor where you wish to be able to edit content.
3. Choose Insert > Template Objects > Editable Region.
4. Enter a name for the region and click OK.
5. Save your template (Ctrl (Cmd) + S), and Update all the pages.
Now you can return to the page you were trying to modify the content for, and that editable region you created should be available.
Under the Learning Resources section of our website, we also have a Dreamweaver Simulation that may help explain templates to you a little more 28_converting_a_page_to_a_template.htm
