Free shipping excluded on specific items

Free shipping excluded on specific items

I have a cart setup where "free shipping for orders of over $100.00" is set up, however, I now need to exclude specific catalog items from free shipping and calculate shipping on only the excluded items, and still provide free shipping on the other items

In order to exclude certain items, I have set up a database column for excluded items where "no free ship" has a value of "Y"

My current shipping price is currently calculated from the sum of the cart column "total weight"

I am fine with excluding shipping on orders with a total cart value of over $100.00, thats simple.

I believe I now need to set up a new shipping rule, for orders over $100.00, with a calculation where "total weight" is calculated only on items where "no free ship" has a value of "Y"

Not sure how to code the calculation, any help would be appreciated.

Hope I'm on the right track!
