Order ID not updating properly

Order ID not updating properly

I have managed to sort out a cart using your solution and use the checkout wizard to create the code needed to store all the relevant detail in various tables.

My cart then goes into PAYPAL to take any monies and then returns to update the order status in the correct table. All's well.

The thing I'm concerned with is related to the ORDER_ID field in that if you go around the loop and place an order, it makes an entry in the tblOrders with a unique ORDER_ID However, if you then clear the cart, don't logout but then place another order, the system just updates the original ORDER_ID information and doesn't start another record.

I would happily insert code in the system to correct this but I wanted to check the reasoning behind it before I start tampering?

Also has this occurred before? If so, do you have any notes that might speed up my fix?

Thanks.

Colin
