Add to cart -confirmation?

Well, something that would tell the user that the item actually got moved to the cart, now my customer thinks nothing tells the customer that the item actually got sent to the cart.

I have a drop-down menu as a kind of quick cart. If I could change the order of the items in the quick-cart then the last one put to the cart would be highest up thus always be visible in this drop-down-quick-cart. It would kind of "live" as soon as one put a new item to the cart.

Another thing I tried was changing the amount -text box to show "OK!" upon clicking the add to cart -button but but didn't get this working; nothing would be put to the cart when I messed in some javascript to the form.
