Add to Cart and Multiple Options
Hello All,
After looking into using ecart for my clients site, I came to the conclusion that I didn't charge enough to get it going with that. Although the store has close to 200 items, I think I would be better suited to get it done using the paypal toolkit.
I have already set up a single product to work well. The product is available in single jars and in boxes of 6 jars with a discounted price from the single purchase. Having both as individual options works great. I did some customizing to be able to allow the client to put in the amounts while on the local page.
I'm having a couple of issues with the setup and have an idea I would like to implement but am thinking the toolkit is limited in this aspect. Bear with me please.
The first issue I'm having is that, while in the wizard, I select the options for a client message and shipping options, but I get no window to do so at any moment. In the code it states:
<input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="0" />
<input type="hidden" name="no_note" value="0" />
Now to the modification. In order to give the client the ability to apply quantities in my local page, I changed the code to this:
<input class="itemForm" type="visible" name="add" value="" />
And modified the css to fit the look I wanted. No problem, except that no matter what value I put in, be it 0 or 100, I get a quantity of 1 in the paypal shopping cart. I would like to see if there's a solution to this or if it can't be done using the toolkit.
And finally, to the idea. Right now I have a form for the 6 pack and the single jar each. They obvioulsy have their own buttons. I would like to simplify this for the client and have the two quantity boxes applied with a click of a single button. So when in the shopping cart it shows the individual items with their quantities and totals. For example:
six pack of candles such and such qty of 2 $50
jar of candle such and such qty of 3 $25
I think this would simplify the process for the client. Another thing I would like to know is if there's a way to not have the page jump to the cart page everytime a product is added. This would help if the idea I have is not possible by keeping the client on the same page and simply adding the information on each box separately and, click....shopping cart full. They can then verify the cart using the view cart button on the page.
So...once again a long post...any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers,
jc
