We updated any products sold up to six months before cs4 was released. We had stopped selling Site Assist over a year before CS4 was released.
Site Assist Pro is a far superior product. It allows you to use css sculptor and css menu writer as well as your own templates to create your own designs for pages. It alows you to define your own contents and share those things with a layout manager.
We don't always update the price of Super Suite when we add more extensions. Since new extensions are added so frequently and our Super Suite always includes all of our product line. Did you pay full price for super suite? At the time you purchased we ran quite a few 50% off sales. We don't offer sales on super suite any more. This is partually due to the added features and works as an effective price change. Market conditions don't really allow us to update the price much higer, so we hope to gain extra revenue by adding those features to promote sales.
Upgrade revenue is probably the majority of our revenue on a release. I guess in a way current users do contribute to the development of the product line and in return new users are able to benefit from the existing user's contribution. But in the meantime you are able to benefit by using the product over that timeperiod. Most technology products decline in price rapidly. The fact that it has stayed the same price is actually a reflection of rapid evolution and updates otherwise the price would naturally fall as demand deminished for an old and outdated product.
