The length of time it takes for Google to index a site can vary greatly (anywhere from a week to a few months) however here are some things you can do to help speed things up:
Provide Google with Your URL
- Click the following link to give Google your URL: addurl
Submit a Sitemap
- Google uses a sitemap to learn about the structure of your site and to increase coverage of your webpages. Essentially a sitemap tells Google what pages on your site are the most important, how frequently pages on your site are updated, and also helps ensure that Google finds the most important pages of your site. However, while submitting a sitemap is a good practice it won't guarantee that your site is indexed.
Gain Inbound Links
- Since neither of the above methods will guarantee your site get indexed gaining inbound links to your site is a great way to ensure search engines find you. Google actually locates the majority of new sites by sending out their automated spiders to crawl sites and follow links. If Google crawls a site and follows a link to your site then bam! your found :-) Oh yeah, and you'll want links from reputable/quality sites. A link from a "bad" site won't help and can actually hurt you.
