WAMP or XAMPP?

Okay I have run into one little issue. Using the adobe walkthrough here setting_up_php_05.html
Everything went swimmingly until the end, when you click on the tables list in the database tab in dw. I can't get anything to show up. It just says none. I read some posts on the site about the same issue but I couldn't find a resolution. I followed all the example text naming exactly. I do have Norton on my pc, could that be the issue?
