New Solution Coming in November!
We are aiming to release a brand new solution, called PowerGallery, next month. I had the privilege of seeing the first engineering demo of it yesterday and we are really thrilled with it.
We created a web-based installation process and checklist so that it will check your server requirements and walk you through the configuration steps, instead of relying on a readme or pdf to walk you through. We expect this to get people off to a more successful start and hope to implement in our other solutions moving forward.
Once through installation, you can create and manage image galleries through a web-based interface. The advantage of this, over an extension, is that you could hand off to a client to manage their own galleries, instead of being forced to make an update every time they want to put up a new photo/image. (Or if you enjoy or get paid to be their webmaster, well just think how much time the admin portal will save you.)
You can upload a batch of images at once if you like. Thumbnails are created automatically. You can easily add watermark text and choose its size and placement. You can rotate images, if needed. You get to select from a handful of designs for the gallery and then pick a light or dark theme for each design. (Below are a few screenshots of some gallery choices.)
For each gallery you create through the admin, you get a link on your server to point to the page with the gallery or a snippet of PHP code to embed. The output is CSS-based and will work in all modern browsers. Very simple; this solution works like magic (and I'm not even on the marketing team). :)
