Difficulties with (A) Initial Value; (B) Updating of database

Hello,
I attach a file; I have two issues.

Firstly,
the CK editor is currently refusing to insert the data as read from the database into the text area and input field, and so that it is the default, thus allowing us to further edit that text.
Indeed, the default text that appears in the text area seems to be the text that is the value I have in place for the Submit button (value="Press to Save and Update").

Secondly
the Ck editor does not update the field in the database when the update button is pushed.

Thank you for your help,
KAB
