Adding Search field to MySqli search?

Okay, so the default search parameters for the site are to search product name, product meta description and wholesale price.

The problem is that the meta field is often empty. I'd rather have it search ProductLongDesc. However when I replaced the Product Meta field names to ProductLongDesc in this code:
<input id="ProductMetaKeywords" name="ProductMetaKeywords" type="text" value="<?php echo((isset($_GET["ProductMetaKeywords"])?$_GET["ProductMetaKeywords"]:"")); ?>" class="formTextfield_Medium" tabindex="2" title="Please enter a value.">

It ended up finding all items not just the ones with the keywords in that field.

How do i go about getting a better search result? I started to add a dynamic area but was warned to create a new server behavior. I don't want to screw up the relationship with the product results pages, so I am being cautious.
