Donations with eCart tutorial confusing: cart object?

I do not understand this tutorial: http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Donations-with-eCart. Do I need to go through another tutorial before, or is this enough if I want to add a donate button? The reason why I ask is that a message appears: "No cart object is available for this site. Please make sure ...", when I follow point 3: "Choose the Add to Cart Button option from the eCart toolbar / Insert panel. ".
