png conversion to jpg problem on upload

png conversion to jpg problem on upload

When I upload a '.png' file the image is converted to a .jpg and the colors become distorted. installed. I downloaded and installed the phphelper.php file from the 2018 thread on this topic but I still get the distortion. Can I change my file upload settings to not convert the file and upload the image as .png ? I have Databridge 235 installed. PHP Info shows my server has GD library version 2.2.5 Thanks.
