send an email on record update through subdomain

I have a form a user fills out, upon submit it inputs a record to a mySQL db and sends a summary to the user. The site uses an outdated version of PHP (5.1) and this scheme was created with an older version of Universal Email 5 years ago, my new Universal Email does not work with this old version on the site. I have a subdomain for this site that has a current version of PHP running and my new UE works just fine on this site. I want to send an email with the latest record info out once a new record is created on the main domain, using the subdomain to do it. Attempting to create a seperate email using the code from the old UE is way too much brain damage. Is there a way to trigger an email from the subdomain once a new record is added to the db? I can access the db from both the domain and subdomain sites. Thank you in advance - Tom
