2 Promo Code Fields

I have 1 promo code field that operates like normal promo code fields do. This is on the view cart page.

I have a 2nd one promocode field, that is for wholesale customers. They enter a wholesale code and get a discount.

The wholesale discount is supposed to be off the total.

ie if the subtotal is $100. and the promocode gives 10% off, the new subtotal would be $90.

so when a wholeslae customer enters thier code to get 30% off, i need it to be based on the $90 not the $100.

currently its giving a discount off the $100.

how do i change this?
