backend very slow

Hey Ray

Just wondering if you'd be able to give me a bit of a steer as have got a site where the front end loads as quickly as needed but the backend from the login page slows to a crawl and not sure what I should be looking for.

It does have a lot of product in the products table (over 3500 items) but surely if that were to slow things down it would only slow down searches in the backend product area?
