Data Assist Can NOT access MySQLi Database

I am not sure if this is a Web Assist Data Assist issue or if it is Dreamweaver. I am on a iMacPro with the latest version and am running Dreamweaver current version CC which I believe is 2019. I had to unlstinall due to a number of errors that started to pop up after I upgraded dreamweaver. My issue now is that I am no longer able to make a connection with the MySQL database I see the WA Database panel, and the database connections but when I try to expand the database I get a No Tables Found. Please check your connection and testing server error. I am running the current version of MAMP also and I am able to access phpMyAdmin but for some reason I can't edit my existing WA files because the database connection is broken. I tried calling Adobe and they blamed it on WA. I searched the web to see if it was a MAMP issue and can't seem to find the problem. I don't expect free help so if you can provide me with whatever it is that I need to move this project forward, I would appreciate it and be happy to pay for your services.
