what can I do if the mysql database does not support remote connections? Is there a tunnelling option.

When I started on my project the Webassist Database Connections window could connect to the database, and it would show the tables that were in the database. Now the connection shows no tables found.
I'm told by the host (1and1) that no external connections are allowed to MySQL, only connections from the hosting space.
Does this mean that I am forced to change hosts to use WebAssist DataBridge products?
