MySQLi and Databridge

I have got a mac and the latest Dreamweaver - I have upgraded to Data Bridge after many years of not using this method for building websites. So a quick question...

After I've created the Products page in Data Bridge I want to tweak some of the elements and add in my own code specifically for pulling off say 6 cars from the database that have 'yes' in the field 'star_car' and repeat them on a page. Also at the footer I would like to pull some testimonials from another table to show.

Very simply it would be along the lines of: SELECT from table where field 'star_car' = 'yes'

So my points are:

• Would I need to purchase MySQLi to do this correctly in addition to the Data Bridge I have just got?
• Is the older method of recordsets and repeat regions out of date? I can see the panels there now Data Bridge is installed
• The pages created by the new data Bridge Wiizard are they fine, is the code generated the same as MySQLi (ie not outdated)?

Can someone please clarify this?

EDIT:

I've just found this tutorial on your website:
http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Change-a-text-field-to-a-dynamic-dropdown

Which gives me the impression that Data Bridge comes with its own Recordsets panel that I can use without purchasing MySQLi

Again, if someone could clarify!

Many thanks
