Validation Toolkit Activation problem

I was working in Dreamweaver CS4 (WIN) this morning and trying to edit a page that I used Validation Toolkit on and the "Validation Toolkit Activation" dialog appeared (it is frustrating how often I have to re-enter this number, but that's a different issue). Today, for some reason, it is not accepting the serial number for this machine. I thought it might be a fluke, so I tried another SN that I use for my Mac and that one was rejected too.

As an additional bonus, the last time I had a problem like this, I figured out that the dialog being displayed, while it SAID Validation Toolkit actually was for another extension (Security Assist, I think). How the heck is one to figure out which serial number is being requested if the dialog is incorrect?
