Keeping session alive for 2 days

On the admin pages of my website I need to keep them open for over 24 hours. Mainly on the add page. I assume it needs to set a session cookie for x period of time. Read many posts here and elsewhere but there is no clear answer other than setting the php.ini setting which I don't believe is an option.

I see the cookies setting in Data bridge but cant find clear instructions to use them. I assume I set a certain session variable? Does this need to be done on every page or only the login page? If you have a tutorial somewhere on that it would be great.
Thanks.
