Hi Ray
....What happens when you try to use the standard MySQL connection?....
1st step - I defined site and created webpage
2nd step - "Add content to PowerCMS" and this requires that I get to creating/defining a connection, I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 and the normal requirements to define a connection display, having triple checked the user name database names ect. I get MySQL Error#: 2002 and can't go any further.
...... The easiest solution is to move to a php version 6 or lower
I'm using XAMPP for windows 5.6.3 which has PHP 5.6.3.
1and1 are using PHP 7.0
Their database connect help says:
Copy and paste the following code to your PHP script to set up the database connection.
For your security, we are not showing the password.
Please always connect to the database through your website. The direct access to the database via your local PC (external ODBC connection) is not possible.
Please note that PHP 5.5 and later versions do not support MySQL. Please use the MySQLi code instead.
Regards Mac
